2 Parts in one

Haven't had time to post much about my last two flights but I got to it today and I'll do them together. First I flew to Golovin Alaska from Anchorage. Then on from Golovin I flew to Gambell. It's part of Alaska but on an island much more south the most of Alaska. Here are some shots...

Back to the US I go

I'm heading back to the US but this time Alaska. My stop will be in Anchorage. I flew from Whitehorse to Anchorage and next up I will be flying a bit farther. Not much time to chat, gotta get flying for the next leg.

High Level to Whitehorse

Ok, no snazzy catch phrase titles this time. I'm on my way out of Whitehorse in a minute and I forgot to post how the trip went to get here. Things were smooth but cloudy today. Beautiful view out of High Level but then it got progressively cloudier. It wasn't a pretty sight getting into Whitehorse but what can you do.

New trip, new day

Well it's going to be a short post cause I want to get going. I've decided to skip Yellowknife and go directly to Whitehorse and then over to Alaska. It's a long trip so I'd better get going. Here's some pics from Chetwynd to High Level

Spiking the Flight

ok so I decided to fly through High Level and Yellowknife and all of those but I knew it wouldn't be a one flight journey. In fact I didn't even make it to High Level in the first flight. i flew it last night but I'm writing today as I prepare to get to High Level this time. The flight was nice. I flew over the coastal mountains and the Rockies. beautiful view. I ended up flying over the Hart range of the Rockies and into Chetwynd, British Columbia for the night. During the Rockies flight, things weren't looking pretty for weather. Since I had been in the area before by car I knew the road would lead me to Chetwynd so I decended below the clouds and below the mountain tops and swirved around the mountains along the highway to get there.

Away from a manger... err I mean USA... Go away Christmas

So I took off from California to end up far north back in the country where it began.(and it won't be the last visit to this place either. I'm in Canada again. Well on the edge of it. I stopped in at Tofino on the island of Vancouver. I'll be flying north next. I haven't decided if I'll swing into Alberta and stop by my new hometown or head directly to Alaska through the Yukon yet but I'll be making that decision soon enough.

Well, after 3 stops in big cities and airports all in a row, I thought it was time to enjoy a smaller place. That place was Shelter Cove. I just landed there and it's a beautiful airport. It's located right on the edge of the water on the Pacific. I'm slowly making my way back up to Canada and then over to Alaska and to Russia and this will be a long trip but with scenery of the Pacific rim, things are looking up.

Los Angeles to San Francisco

Sorry still no photos did both flights in a row and didn't take pictures... but it was a nice flight.

Las Vegas to Los Angeles

Well I screwed up and the camera didn't work. No pictures for this one. Flew from Las Vegas to Los Angelese. Nice flight. Not too long. I'm on my way to San Francisco as we speak as well.

The Griswalds were here and now so am I. I've made the trek to Vegas. What a nice little journey over the Grand Canyon.

To the Beach Batman!!!

Let's go fly a kite... ok not really but that would be something you do at the beach. What would you do with miles of sand though? Well you can fly to an airport on the beach. That's what I did. I took off from Aspen and went straight for Blanding Municipal Airport in the State of Utah. It's my first time Landing in this state I believe but hopefully not my last. I have to admit, the landing was a little tricky. When I first spotted the runway I thought it was too small even for my plane. It turns out that miles of sand like that make things look smaller and closer than they really are. Here are some photos of the leg. I won't be here long however, I want to make it to Las Vegas by tonight to get a little gambling in.
